Look: Using Pixiglow Tint and Paul & Joe Minou

Hi everyone, here's a look I did using two products I've posted about recently; Paul & Joe's Blusher Stick in Minou and the Pixiglow Magic Tink Tint.

Both products came out fairly light and pink on me. I probably won't use them together next time as together they wash out my complexion slightly. It really doesn't help that i'm wearing light coloured clothes too. I've been looking a bit pale these wintery months, so I don't think I can get away with light lip AND cheek colours.

I have got to say though, the Paul & Joe blush is so cute. Here's a pic of it taken from my recent post. I really love the pretty pink shade too.

Adorable: Paul & Joe Blusher Stick in Minou

Having grown up with them as pets, I personally LOVE cats (and the sad thing is, I'm highly allergic to them). So when I say promotional pics of Paul & Joe's Spring Collection my heart melted. This collection celebrates Paul & Joe's 10th anniversary, and chennels the love founder Sophie Albou has for cats.

From this collection I bought the Blusher Stick in Minou from Asos (£21).

The outer packaging contained images of slightly cross-eyed fierce looking cats. The packaging of the blusher stick itself is classically gorgeous.

The blusher stick is in the shape of a cat in a top hat. Too adorable to use! I gleefully showed it to my husband who screamed when he saw the cat (and not in delight)!

Swatch of the blush partially blended. It's quite a subtle shade once blended so i think it would suit those with fairer skintones due to its light colour.

These Blusher Sticks are enriched with moisturising orange flower water and jojoba oil. Application is super easy, just apply directly onto the cheeks and blend. It has a sweet floral scent typical of most Paul & Joe products. Once blended, it has very subtle shimmer particles, so subtle that I was unable to pick it up on my camera. It did not feel particularly moisturising on my skin, but it was not drying either. It gave my cheeks a really pretty, natural looking pink flush. Colour can be intensified by further layering of product.

Bright Cheeks, Pink Lips FOTD (using Chanel Rouge Allure Gloss in Imaginaire)

Hi everyone, for today's FOTD I focused mainly on the cheeks. It's miserable and cold outside, so I chose to use a cheerful peachy-pink shade of blush to brighten things up.

My blusher of choice is Illamasqua's Temble. It's a gorgeous bright colour. Like all Illamasqua's blush, it's heavily pigmented so I have to be careful not to have too heavy handed application.

I kept the eyes simple using black eyeshadow as liner, topped with a shade of natural brown on the upper eyelids.




On my lips, I used a pale cotton candy pink gloss. I'm loving the new Chanel Rouge Allure Gloss in Imaginaire at the moment.

I don't really suit light pink gloss, as most shades wash out my complexion. The Chanel gloss deosn't seem to though, which is why I love it so much! I would love to try some milky beige coloured lip glosses.

My Christmas FOTD

Hi everyone! I wanted to share with you a Christmas inspired FOTD.

I used my newly purchased Illamasqua Cream Blush in Lies to highlight my cheeks. I really love this blush as it gives a really great glow.

For foundation, I dug up my Chanel Vitalumiere. Haven't used it for over half a year. I love how sheer it is, almost like a tinted moisturiser.

This is the first time I've worn false lashes in an FOTD. As you can see I'm not used to them yet, makes me feel very heavy lidded!

My new year's resolutions are:

1. Eat healthily and continue going to the gym regularly

2. Focus more on my loved ones, and make sure they know how much they mean to me

3. Spend less on makeup! The hardest part will be resisting limited editions...

4. Try lots of new recipes - preferably healthy ones to go with resolution No.1!

Anticipation of Spring 2011 Collections

Hi everyone, here are some photos to get you excited for upcoming Spring 2011 beauty collections, while it's cold and dreary outside for most of us. Sorry for the lack of info, I just wanted to do a quick round-up on things which have caught my eye. Spring collections have always been my favourite as they are so vibrant and pretty.

The colours look so pretty and fresh! The range includes a highlighting powder called Pink Celebration, and 8 new Rouge Pur Couture Lipsticks.

Givenchy:

The star product of this collection will be the Photo Perfection Light Evanescent Fluid Foundation SPF10 with foam applicator and radiance formula

This Blush Gelee caught my attention as I love blushes in its many forms

Lancome:

Ultra Lavande Collection by Aaron De May.

I'm not fond of lavander coloured makeup, but this collection has some beautiful looking pieces, including this La Rose butterfly Blush

Ballerine Color Fever Gloss Natural Origin, Lancome Le Vernis and LA Base Dewy Glow Smoothing Radiance Enhancer (which I am VERY interested in the sound of).

Shu Uemura:

Inspired by butterfly's wings and tropical jungle sunsets.

Morphollium Blue Palette, Sunset Gold Palette, Shine Mystic Eye Colors, and Peacock Partial Eyelash

From all the the above collections, I'll be interested in investigating the; YSL Pink Celebration Highlighter, Givenchy foundation and Lancome LA Base Dewy Glow. How about you?

I heart Paul & Joe

I did a Paul and Joe haul awhile ago, but never got round to blogging about it. I love this brand! They have such beautiful packaging, and I think their products are lovely, with really pretty easy to wear colours. However, they're so difficult to get hold of in the UK that I mostly buy them online from Beautybay and HQhair.

Here's what I bought. This would be the last of my big hauls for awhile as I'm trying to save up. But then again, I'm going to Japan next month. I don't know how on earth I will be able to resist all that shopping.

A thick texture, but goes on as a sheer strawberry red. It feels really light on my lips and not too sticky:

I also bought their base makeup:

Moisturizing foundation primer 03 and Protective fluid foundation N 10

I like to blend the two together for a super sheer look:

This is their Creamy cheek powder in Marionette 01. According to Paul and Joe, this colour is highly translucent and delivers a glow, like that of bare skin. Marionette is a pretty rose pink, that looks more natural once on the skin. Texture is unlike anything I've come across. It fel like both a powder and a cream at the same time.

I also bought 2 Lipstick N's in Bougainvillea 12 and Strawberry Jam 14

Bougainvillea is a pale nude rose with a very creamy texture:

Strawberry Jam is a lustrous red-pink colour. It contains small gold shimmer. Sorry the pictures are not very bright! We've been having such dull weather here, it's hard to get good natural lighting. I've added an additional side pic of the swatch to get a better idea of the colour.

Here's me using my Paul & Joe products. I'm using the base and foundation mixed together, the Marionette cheek powder and Bougainvillea lipstick.

As lovely as the bougainvillea lipstick is, it does wash out my complexion a little. Sadly, I do not suit too pale colours and better stick to slightly darker, rosy colours.
